Level 44, Grosvenor Place, 225 George Street, Sydney NSW
1,800m²
When VGW decided it was time to make Level 44 of Grosvenor Place entirely their own, the brief was to take a collection of separate tenancies and turn them into one connected, creative workplace. Bold, colourful and built around who they are, at the top of one of Sydney’s most recognised office towers.
The finished fitout reflects the character of a team of gaming designers. A stainless-steel commercial kitchen with bespoke joinery, incorporating custom solid timber benchtop and ceramic tiling. Custom-built phone booths, cork flooring, a boardroom, and multiple breakout spaces. The colour palette and design are deliberately bold and personal to the client. The views across the Harbour, the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House frame the space throughout.
Grosvenor Place is an A-grade, fully occupied building, and managing construction within it required close coordination with the building management team throughout. Sense handled goods elevator bookings, loading dock access, security clearances and contractor permits, keeping the building management team informed at every stage. That communication kept disruption to other tenants to a minimum and kept the project moving. A staged delivery approach also allowed part of the client’s team to continue working in the space while construction progressed around them.
Mid-programme design changes were introduced. Sense restructured the sequencing to absorb them with minimal impact on the programme, and the project was handed over on time.
What started as a patchwork of separate tenancies is now one of the more distinctive workplaces at the top of the Sydney skyline.
