Sydney Central – Base Building Refurbishment & Upgrade to 37 Levels.
Sense Projects won a competitive tender for the upgrade works to Sydney Central Building managed previously by Knight Frank. This included an upgrade and refurbishment to all base building amenities to 37 Levels. This was a staged refurbishment to bring the amenities back to a high-end base building finish. The works were staged to complete 3 levels at the one time. The scope included new finishes, fixtures and joinery to all common areas including male & female bathrooms, showers, Accessible Toilets, cleaners rooms, tea rooms & lift lobbies.
This building was a sensitive building due to the high traffic environment which required significant flexibility with the construction management. We were in communication with the tenant’s constantly and had to enforce particular work processes, providing clear communications & reporting with all contractors to ensure a successful outcome for all parties. Sense Projects took ‘ownership’ of the project requirements and tailored our resources accordingly for the staged works, delivering a quality outcome on time and on budget. Sense Projects had fluid communication with the Building Manager and formed a very strong successful working relationship. The greatest challenge was handling the security constraints of the tenanted building, detailed planning and coordination allowed Sense Projects to program the works accordingly. Constant after hour works were required including all material and equipment loading for access and safety reasons.
