Sense Projects won a competitive tender and were awarded the Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme (SMEC) by Knight Frank. The project consisted of 6 floors at 20 Berry Street, North Sydney, comprising approximately 6,000sqm and incorporating two new interconnecting stairs. The project had an extremely tight 14-week program due to the lease expiry at SMEC’s existing premises. The new headquarters showcased the company’s new branding within a mostly open-plan, quality, fresh and vibrant environment.
The two interconnecting stairs fluidly connected levels 6 and 7 as well as Levels 9 & 10 in a coherent manner whilst utilising a pair of relatively small floor plates. The new internal fit-out included an open-plan design, with meeting rooms, breakout facilities, interconnecting stair, reception and the supporting function rooms.
