The Tea Room Gunners Barracks refurbishment is a response to the client wanting to give the beautiful sandstone building an interior refresh with the Harbor Terrace enclosed to keep the quests warm during the winter months. The Client’s objective was to upgrade the renowned historic location with new finishes that would add to the interiors timeless quality and elegance. The project consisted of the following spaces: The Bridal Room, Main Function Room, Entry Foyer, Drawing Room, Bar Area, Male & Female Bathrooms, External Area & Main Balcony and The External Front Entrance. Here the constraints required of a heritage listed building are balanced within a space that is crafted and highly detailed, demonstrating the way that an interior refurbishment can comply with strict heritage regulations.
The refurbishment works included feature custom made carpet throughout, feature wall paper to all walls, new joinery including Entry desk, Bridal desk, encasement to cover the existing fire panel, full height joinery unit to kitchen entry alcove, new waiters stations inside & out, new feature mirrors, new joinery to bar area and new freestanding vanity to Male and Female Bathrooms. New Feature Cornices to all ceilings, new paint finish, new window and door hardware, new roof flashing to damaged areas, new feature chandeliers, and light fittings throughout, new floor tiles to bar area, new toilet partition systems to Male & Female Bathroom, new bathroom floor & wall tiles, all services upgrades as required.
